The Night Before Departure

We spent this last day in NC running around doing errands and packing our bags. Beth was a huge help in this process, as always. Thanks, Beth! After some funny adventures at FedEx (with a worker who thought that Hawaii was a different country) someone stopped us to ask what “Hawaii or Bust” meant on the back of our car. Is this really such an antiquated phrase? I think we thoroughly confused this man, who still didn’t seem to understand the meaning of the sentiment even after some guidance from Maggie.

Later that evening, we had dinner with Sydney and Scott at Sunset Grille and then drinks with Beth, Chris, and Kelly. We hung out with Regis, Kelly’s adorable dog for a bit outside the restaurant, and headed back to Syd & Scott’s for some last goodbyes.  Syd and Maggie sat around weeping and “processing our emotions”, while Nate and Scott sat on the porch and talked about zombies, aliens, and the end of the world. Hilarious.

Tomorrow is the big day!
