SARAH & THOMAS ARE ENGAGED!

Congratulations to Sarah (Tommy's sister) and Thomas, who got engaged last night! Don't they look so good together? We are very happy for both of them.

Goodbye to the Carrascos!

Last night our friends Nick and Lauren Carrasco came through town on their way from Miami to DC. We had a hilarious evening of pricing items for our yard sale with Nick, Lauren, and Hector (Nick's Dad). Here is a pic from our dinner at the Flying Burrito.

Pennsylvania Goodbyes

After the 495 debacle, I pressed north for more goodbyes with my mother, my Nana, my extended Beck family, and friend Kristin (along with husband Jason, mom Debbie, and newborn baby Landry). I savored every minute in my "hometown", eating Meadows custard with Katie, Borroners Corn with Mom & Nana, Mountain Pies and Marshmallows with the Becks,.......apparently eating is a theme in Portage. I brought a sack of Gobs home for Nate, which he devoured almost immediately.

Goodbyes in DC & The Honda Tragedy

Last weekend, I drove up to Northern VA to see the Lovells and say my goodbyes in route to Portage. Unfortunately, our nearly-new Honda Element and I were struck by a 16 year old boy who dropped his cell phone on the ramp to 495. Very sad. However, no human injuries....his car was demolished, however the mighty Element survived with surface wounds. We get the car back on Friday, but until then are high-rolling in a brand new gas-guzzling GMC Envoy.

I loved seeing my dear friends Phil and Beth and their precious Lorelai, who is one of the funniest human beings I know. I squeezed every cuddle possible out of her since I am about to miss as she blows through one developmental milestone after another. :( Phil and Beth have already purchased their tickets for December, so we can't wait for our reunion in our new home!

The Goodbyes Begin

This week officially marked the beginning of the "official" goodbyes. Maggie had what may have been her last "girl dinner" with her intern friends Signe & Kelly, and then traveled to Virginia for visits with Colin & Chris and the Pierson Clan. We will miss everyone very much, even though we will be in such a beautiful place.
