Katie and Maggie on Kauai

One day during Katie's visit, we visited the neighbor island of Kauai. This island is called the Garden Isle due to its lush, green landscapes (and large amount of rain!). Katie and I enjoyed touring around the island, taking pictures, laughing, and generally enjoying one another's company. It was great fun to just pull out the map and pick places that looked neat, stop along the road, and soak up the gorgeous views. Hopefully, many years from now, we will still remember this special day that we shared exploring the island together.

Also note, you can click on each picture and it will open it in a new browser window at a larger size so you can see it better....

One of the first scenic spots along the road from Lihue to Waimea.

Hibiscus at the Russian Fort in Waimea.

One of the several dozen abandoned cars we saw on the island. Nice picture, though!

This picture typifies Kauai. Long, red, dirt roads.

Our rental car, the "Cruiser!", and the wild chickens that abound everywhere.
