On Sunday we decided to stay near home. After a lazy morning of coffee and the Honolulu Advertiser, we spent a few hours at Lanikai Beach. This beach area is just south of Kailua Beach Park, and is known for its crystal blue water and excellent snorkeling. In fact, Tommy used his normal goggles and was able to swim all around the close reef and see lots of fish. The water here is so clear you can see your limbs in the water as you swim and your feet when you stand--a far cry from the blue-brownish looking Atlantic on the NC shoreline!
